As you may know, I have been making these meditations on youtube for about an year now. These are improvised long ambient compositions that goes everywhere and I love making them. Today was also one of those days where I placed my camera and hit record to make another one of these. The length of these videos usually range from 8-15 minute mark. I like to think of this as doing the dishes music or existential crisis - eyes closed - looking at the ceiling kinda beat (or the lack thereof).
I also plugged in my microphone after a long time to dabble with some reverby singing (or a lack of, again) and during the 8th minute I knew that I was making the best one yet. Mind you, I have made 34 of them so far and I can see that my process has gotten better and better. Here’s a note about routines I just posted -
I wrapped up the recording and when it was the time to export, I realised, to my horror that due to a random setting I forgot to uncheck, my output recorder only recorded the last five minutes of it.
I quickly told myself two things -
One was that it was better than nothing and two - this makes a good story to tell.
So here I am.
Hope you enjoy something incomplete.
love,
tijbed.
P.S - I have a Buy me a coffee page. In case you ever feel generous!
